I have known Ed Ramsey in the capacity of a consultant, business advisor, classmate, colleague and friend. I met Ed during an APTA sponsored business course in 2002 to assist me in developing a business plan for a start up practice. Immediately, Ed communicated a firm interest in my endeavor, gave me suggestions and since has been the primary advisor and facilitator for Reddy- Care PT. My practice started in 2004 and since has growth to 17 staff, over 340 patient visits a week and a profit margin that has grown since the first day I opened. Although I attribute some of my success to study and other management courses, Ed has been there as a colleague/friend to support me through the toughest challenges with a caring, personal approach.
Every phone call returned in 12 hours, constructive feedback that wasn't patty caked to spare my feelings and persistence, demonstrates the qualities of Ed's advice. His ethics, professionalism and presence emanates a "rock" for the profession of physical therapy and gives us all hope that such a person exists to pave through the challenges that we have in front of us. Always positive and insightful, Ed has the experience and know-how to handle all matters for federal regulations to marketing an ancillary weight loss program for children. I would recommend that Ed continue writing books and educational seminars as his minds' information is priceless and can assist in saving our profession from poor business management techniques and lack of ethics. Every sit down with Ed, is a realization that I can do something about my problem(s) and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I write this recommendation with a heart full of love and admiration for Ed's work as it has helped create a future for my practice, family and life.
