Ramsey Rehab through the Years!

Ramsey Rehabilitation, Inc. was started in May 1997 by Ed Ramsey MSPT. Ed was previously the Central and Northern MA and Northern FL manager for Consolidated Health Care Associates, CHCA. His responsibilities included operations manager for several out patient clinics in both Massachusetts and Florida. He was a business consultant to nursing home contract services and a start up home care division in Massachusetts. Ed decided that there was a need for more personalized patient care in the North Central MA area so he opened his first clinic on 33 Electric Avenue, Fitchburg, MA.

Over the next three years, Ed's staff grew from 3 employees to 9 and a second clinic was opened in April 2000 located at 80 Erdman Way, Leominster, MA.

July 2000 marked a turning point in the company's history with the addition of Kevin Flaherty PT, formerly of UMASS Center of Health and Fitness. Kevin's history included working directly with the Boston Red Sox, Worcester Ice Cats and many high level Olympic Soccer and Ice Hockey athletes. With Kevin's expertise in the Professional Sports Therapy field, Ramsey Rehab moved firmly into specializing in Orthopedics and Sports Rehab. To continue this pursuit of excellence in 2001, the 80 Erdman Way clinic was moved and expanded to 100 Erdman Way, Leominster, MA. The clinic doubled in size twice over the next four years at 100 Erdman Way.

In October of 2005, Ramsey Rehab continued to expand by the purchase and construction of a new facility at 39 Cinema Blvd. in Leominster. Owned by Ed and built to 7,000 sq. ft, Ramsey Rehab continues to expand its operation by continuing to provide quality PT services in a state of the art facility. Since opening, Ramsey Rehab has become the areas leading Proactive Preventative Health and Wellness center specializing in Orthopedic and Sports Rehab Physical Therapy. Other services not currently offered anywhere else in the area include Computerized Video analysis, a Golf Exercise and Performance program, a high level Athletic Strength and Conditioning program, Individualized Running Clinics and Custom Orthotic Fabrication.

In 2007, our new and expanded Leominster office has allowed us to offer more services. We have an Indoor Heated Pool. Heated to 94 degrees, the pool provides our clients pain free exercise against the resistance of the water. An indoor Rock Climbing Wall is now available for advanced therapeutic exercise. Group Exercise Classes to continue to offer our clients the best of advanced exercise training to round out our mission of being the local leaders in “Proactive Physical Therapy”

In October 2008, Ramsey Rehab opened it's 3rd location in Devens MA. The clinic will provide the same high quality you have come to know but with a focus on getting injured workers back to full function as soon as possible. This site is being managed by Karla Rocheleau PT and long time employee of Ramsey Rehab. Karla has over 17 years of PT experience in the sports-ortho setting and a subspecialty with runners and orthotics.

In October 2009, Ramsey Rehab entered into a management agreement with Tyngsborough Physical Therapy to manage all company operations during the transition to merge in Jan 2010. Tyngsborough Pyhsical Therapy (TPT) was started by Susan Abis PT over 17 years ago and has a been a recognized leader in the Tyngsboro/Nashua area for Woman's Health, Pediatrics (school based and out-patient in the clinic) and orthopedics since its opening. The merger was successfully completed and TPT because Ramsey Rehab's 4th location in its newly expanded space. It is Ramsey Rehab's hope to expand on the current staff, programs and hours of operation to further cover the Northern Middlesex area of MA.
